Columnist
I received my education at the University of California-Berkeley, and received a Ph.D. degree. I then worked in the information industry for about 50 years, starting at the beginning in 1971 with using the Dialog system to do searches for technical staff at Bell Labs, and then progress to various units of AT&T. I retired from AT&T and eventually worked with Information Today as an Editor-in-Chief of Information Science Abstracts. Now I am an independent consultant blogging conferences and writing a column, "Don's Conference Notes", in Against The Grain.
I am married and live near Philadelphia, PA and near to my son and 4 wonderful grandchildren. For recreation, we have a house on Long Beach Island, NJ near the beach.
